Musical Journey

Music lesson

The musical journey of the new school year begins again. Recently, the Y3-4 children are learning the xylophone. We have three sizes of xylophone: soprano, alto, and bass so that each student has their own. They not only learn how to understand the rhythm and read the staff, but also learn how to perform in an ensemble.

The Y6’s music class has changed a lot this year, with every child selecting one instrument to learn for the whole year with Ms. Mims. 6O and 6S are String classes where they learn to play the Violin, Viola, Cello or Double bass. 6G and 6P are Band classes where they learn to play the Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, or Percussion . The school provides all of these instruments for the children, and students take it home to practice and also bring it back to school. They almost learn it step by step from the zero foundation, to now they can play simple tunes. I’m really proud of them!
